Caterpillar Cupcake Cake

I thought I had posted this, but I was mistaken! My son's 4th birthday was this past Monday. His teacher at school gave him a 'birthday celebration' during class so I brought in a Caterpillar Cupcake Cake, along with the book, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". I think it turned out OK, considering I made it about an hour before hand!

I don't want to go!

To the store that is.  Some times, I really despise going to the grocery store.  I try and make 1 trip every two weeks (with 2 kids it's easier to go less)!  I think for the most part, the reason I dislike making trips is because I feel unorganized.  I use to be able to make a list and stick with, I use to be organized!  Now, since our daughter has been here, I've been feeling 'cluttered'.  My mind anyways.   I'm slowly getting organized, and that's a good feeling.  I changed my method of coupon organization.  Instead of the coupon binder method, I am using a filing box method.   I will post more about these methods later.  The binder method is just time consuming and without me having a separate area to clip, it's nearly impossible to get it done and in an easy to use manner.  See, the thing is, I love to use my coupons, but with the filing box method, I have to check out the grocery store ad online before going, and get my coupons rounded up for the trip.  That involves some tedious work, like I said, I'll post about these methods later!  OK, so now that I'm done ranting about not wanting to go to the grocery store, I should really get my grocery list together and get moving!

Relationship Issues & I AM still here!

I promise, I'm still around!  I've been having thoughts running like crazy through my mind lately!  I just can't figure out what I want to do with this blog.  Don't worry, I AM still continuing to post deals and such, but I've been having a crafty niche come over me this past week and I feel I'll be doing some crafty type posts soon.  Along with some baking and cooking!  We've been living with my husband's grandmother for the past 6 years, helping to take care of her and the land (40 acres); well, her and my in laws have been building their dream home and are almost ready to move in - hoping for the next 2 weeks.  This means that we will be able to have the entire house to ourselves!  I am very excited, yet sad at the same time (after all, we WILL miss his grandmother, don't you know?).  We've been cramped into 2 bedrooms for SIX YEARS!  I know, I shouldn't complain much, this is definitely a huge blessing for us, being practically given a house to live in.  I just know that, with 4 people living cramped in 2 rooms have been a major stress in our lives.  I know I've felt God telling me to just wait it out, don't give up just yet.  You don't know how many times I've wanted to throw in the towel at my relationship with my husband.  

This year has become an incredible year for me.  I've felt like I lost myself for the past 3 or so years, and I finally feel like I'm regaining ME back. Only, an improved and more mature me.  I've grown with the Lord and it feels wonderful :)  I still have a lot to overcome, but I can feel myself building my way up the ladder to get to the top of this wall that I've been facing for so long.  For awhile now, our Pastor has been preaching things that go right in my life at this very moment.  He has said how when we ask God for help and guidance, He gives us the answers we just have to act out on the word.  That has been difficult for me in particular.  I can feel Him working in my life but I'm having a hard time figuring out what it is He wants me to.  

However, that has seem to have changed over the course of a week.  I recently (the past month I'd say) started loosing my trust in God and I could feel my life going on a downward spiral.  This past week I've really prayed hard and have asked God to help me figure out the answer to my questions and I feel Him telling me the answer.  I still can't make out the answer 100%, but I can feel Him working in my life.  I've checked out 2 books at the library, I normally don't read although I LOVED to when I was younger, in hopes that it will give me a better understanding to having a good, Godly relationship with Paul.  I am VERY ready to begin a newly found relationship with the man God has put in my life.  I say a 'newly found' relationship because the past couple of years Paul and I have lost our connection, we argue EVERY day, no lying there, and we call each other names & not to mention treat each other with no respect.  I will try to post a review of the books I'm reading, they are "The Power of a Praying Wife" and "The Love Dare".  I bought the 2nd book at Walmart, it's like a journal.  I can tell you now, I've only read about 40 pages of "The Power of a Praying Wife" and I can feel the Holy Spirit working through me already!  A woman had posted the book title on Cafemom.com so I had to check it out.  She mentioned how her and her husband weren't getting along very well and that this book had helped her tremendously.  Therefore, I rushed to get it - like I said, I am VERY willing to make my relationship work.  I've gone to our church's Women's Ministry once before, and told them Paul and I were taking pre-marriage classes there.  Well, 2 (not just one) women told me that was great and also, that NO MATTER WHAT the circumstance may be, if you need to you do your best to work through any arguments or situations.  Even if that means to go see a marriage counselor.  That made me feel great.  You see, when Paul and I decided to have children, we had only known each other maybe 6 months before we started talking about having any kids.  We met while we were in our partying days, I was only 18, he was only 22.  We weren't married when we got pregnant with our son, and he was 100% planned and I still believe it was God's will for us to have him, even though it was out of wed lock.  I will also tell you that we had our daughter out of wed lock, as well.  And the last thing to tell you, we are actually still NOT married!  I feel ashamed saying that, while I've been calling him my husband, but the truth is, I look at him as if he WAS my husband, and I have faith we will soon marry.  He asked me to marry him before we got pregnant with our son, we just haven't had a wedding.  We haven't bought the wedding rings.  We haven't done a single thing in regards to planning for a wedding.  I suppose I should do a separate post about wedding ideas (I HAVE seen some things and I DO have some ideas)!  

As I've drug this post on, I should probably pry myself away from this computer and head to bed.  Thank you all for taking time to get to know me a little better.  Look forward to new and upcoming features to the blog! 

EASY Chocolate Pudding Pops!

I'm thinking of starting a new page for recipes.  I have some videos on Youtube I think I'll post as well!  Let me know your thoughts :)

You will need:
1 package (3.9 oz) chocolate instant pudding
6 Oreo cookies
2 cups milk\1 1/2 cup thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping
(& one handsome little helper, of course)

Beat pudding mix and milk in bowl with whisk for 2 minutes.

Put cookies in plastic bag, seal.  Using a rolling pin, crush cookies!

Add cookies and Cool Whip to pudding; stirring until blended.

Spoon into 9 (we had 10) small paper cups and insert wooden pop-sickle sticks.  Freeze until firm! 

Sprout Organic Baby Food Review

I was recently contacted and asked to do a review on Sprout Organic Baby Food.  It fits us well since I have a 10 month old daughter!  As you can see from the picture above, my daughter loved the Roasted Apples & Blueberry flavor.  (They also sent along Baked Sweet Potato, as well as Roasted Bananas & Mango!  All of which my daughter enjoyed.)  They have a variety of other flavors that you can view on the Sprout Baby Food website.

We usually make our own baby food, but I've never made any from organic fruits and/or vegetables, so this was something new to us.  I really like the resealable package it also comes in, that makes it easy for traveling (I've never seen baby food packaging like this!), plus it's even BPA free! Remember the $15 OLAY Rebate?

Remember the OLAY $15 Rebate that just ended not long ago?  Well, I had sent my rebate form and all the information in.  So I thought.  A couple weeks after sending it, I received my returned rebate form with an attached letter saying that I needed to send it back along with the needed UPC's.  I really didn't don't

remember if it needed the cut UPCs, I thought I was just suppose to enter the numbers found ON the UPC not the actual UPC.  Needless to say, I never sent my form back in.  In fact, I STILL don't even know where I put it and if I even threw it away.  Surprisingly enough, look what I got in the mail Saturday!

If you can't read that, it basically says that THEY were wrong!  OK, so I don't want to make it out like they're the bad guys, they did apologize for un-qualifying my form because it was indeed correct! I am so excited and now I might actually think about participating in another rebate!  Of course, I know the Man upstairs probably had something to do with this, He knows I could use the extra money! :)
